PERAN PENDIDIKAN POLITIK DAN EFIKASI POLITIK DALAM MENINGKATKAN PARTISIPASI POLITIK MASYARAKAT

Political participation is a primary indicator of democratic success; however, challenges such as low public trust, money politics, and public apathy remain serious obstacles, particularly in rural areas like South Cianjur. This research aims to analyze the influence of political education and political efficacy on public political participation. Using an explanatory quantitative approach, data were collected from 150 respondents in the South Cianjur region through purposive sampling techniques. Data analysis was conducted using the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method with SmartPLS 4 software. The research results show that political education has a positive and significant effect on political participation, with a path coefficient of 0.472 and a p-value of 0.000. Similarly, political efficacy is proven to have a positive and significant effect on political participation, with a coefficient value of 0.474 and a p-value of 0.000. Simultaneously, these two variables contribute 85.2% to the variance of public political participation, while the research model demonstrates a very good fit with an SRMR value of 0.046. These findings emphasize that the synergy between increasing political understanding through structured education and strengthening public political self-confidence (efficacy) is the key to encouraging active and rational citizen engagement in the democratic process at the grassroots level.
